Trigger is an amazing dog. When my husband initially decided he wanted to add two more dogs to our family I freaked. It was touch and go there for the first few months. Two puppies-chewing, playing, and generally wiggling their way into our hearts.
But like the first statement indicates, Trigger is an exceptional companion. He's obedient, loving and loves to be loved. He's a head turner. When we take the two of them places people are always amazed at his coloring and overall good looks. I think what I like about him most is his gentle temperament. On hunts he takes excellent care of our female. He is always cognitive of where she is and has an uncanny ability to sense the presence of other animals.
When they were very young one of the first things I noticed about Trigger was his natural ability and love to get his nose in the air and sniff out just about anything. I recall as a little guy while they were being leash trained, I'd take them on walks. I noticed that as we got closer to home he would always take the lead and steer us towards home. I thought it was a fluke at first but then I began testing him. I would route us one way when we'd leave and loop back around to approach our home using a different route that he was not familiar with. That little rebel would still catch the sent and lead us towards home once we got close.
Trigger loves birds and chasing squirrels and raccoons. He was fascinated by birds from the time we first got him. I am not sure what I should be saying about him. I'm not sure what a hunter is looking for in a dog. I can only tell you as the wife of a hunter that Trigger is an exceptional loving friend. He loves to please, follow us around, protect his mate and have fun. He is a beautiful dog. The picture posted here doesn't do him justice. He's a good looking dog. Pa Roy made a fine selection in sending him to us.
